Piggy Piggy Princess

I scored at the dollar store a few days ago with these little white piggy banks!  I knew they would make a great gift for my two little nieces, but those girly-girls needed a prettier pig!
They both love princesses and ballerinas (the girls, not the pigs) so I decided to convert these into a set of cute money pots.   I painted the ears, painted each girl's initial on, and added my own version of a piggy bank tutu!  Someone else will have to fund these safe deposit porkers!
Banks: $2.00
Ribbon/Tutus: $0.75
Paint:  On Hand

Total Cost:  $2.75 for the pair
Similar banks at local craft store: $15.00 each

Love the way you decorated the piggies. We bought these at Christmas and ours didn't look anything like that. I saw you on blog frog!

That is so cute! Would be the perfect art project to do with our little girl one of these days. She's really into money (because her older brothers are :).

You have a great imagination. I, like everyone else would have thought of painting the pig, but the tutus are just awesome! Now you have me wanting to go to find some plain piggies and think outside the box like you! These will make awesome personalized Christmas gifts. Thanks for the inspiration!

Are those garters around the pigs? (I'm a little thick, I may have missed details-sorry)--- Very cute idea though- would be cute favors for a party w/little girls instead of goody bags!

ps- FF from BF- have a great weekend!

Those are soooo cute! What a great idea. I am sure your nieces are going to love them. I love the dollar store, I use to go there all the time to get goodies for my girls' birthday parties. I would buy little gifts for each of the girls that came. I'm following you from Blogfrog. Nice to meet you.

So stinkin' adorable! I've given piggy banks to newborns for years, hoping to start them on their way to a lifetime of saving. I tell the new parents to charge people who want to hold the new baby -- $1 for each 15 minutes -- ha! This is a wonderful idea to personalize them. Love the tutus!!!
