Black and Cream Bench

Friday, as I was on my way to work, I learned that I actually had the day off.  As I turned around on a side street to head back home, I spotted an early morning yard sale, and the itch got me.  I scooped up a wall mirror, as well as this little bench.

It was poorly covered and a little dull.  It looked like three or four layers of fabric were hanging from the underside as well.
It is amazing what a little paint and fresh fabric can do!  I think this will go great in a guest bedroom that I am remodeling!

Bench:  $8
Fabric:  $5
Paint: $3

Total Cost:  $16
Similar Seat in Furniture Store:  $129

Love that fabric! So cute. Would you have any pointers on how to create a cushion for the top of a toy chest? You can see the toy chest here

What a nice job you did and the fabric was a wonderful choice. Don't you just adore this kind of do-it-yourself?

And thanks for coming to my blog. I left a note for you, I'll see what I can do about the follow button.

I would love a garage sale partner! I have to go solo right now because my husband wants no part of it, he finds it awkward to go to people's homes and rummage through their old things. I, on the other hand, love it!
